Our team
We are a professional and skilled team passionate about visual awareness with a wealth of experience in two and three-dimensional design. As well as maximising the visual impact of your brand we like to focus on the small details, too, so your project is finished to the highest standard. As Wanaka’s leading signage business, we’ve successfully completed a wide range of projects for businesses from the ski industry and construction to real estate and retail.
Our small team of signwriters are passionate about creating quality signage that helps our customers stand out from the crowd.
Sean O’Connell BDes - Owner/Manager
With a degree in Industrial Design and a background in plastics manufacturing and recycling, Sean has a wealth of knowledge in materials usage and 3-D construction. Sean not only owns and manages Wanaka Signs but also likes to get his hands dirty and you'll find him in the printing room or installing signs on a daily basis. His problem solving skills are also finely tuned, whether dealing with signage code regulations or 3-D signage construction. Teamed with his background in design, he can take your project from consent stage to completion with minimum fuss.
Claire O’Connell BDes - Owner/Accounts
Also with a degree in Industrial Design, Claire worked extensively in sales and marketing in Sydney, involved for 9 years in supply to the Picture Framing industry where her focus was new products and customer training. Moving from that company, she spent four years managing the Australian and New Zealand arm of Nielsen & Bainbridge after which she set up The Framing School in Sydney with colleague June Anderson before moving to Wanaka in 2004. Claire's background in fashion design and graphics together with her unique experience makes her a versatile member of the team here at Wanaka Signs where her work ranges from signage design and production, to looking after the company accounts.
